Pregnant, Pretty in Pink, and Pucci

It doesn't matter how pretty you are, at some point during your pregnancy every woman goes through a yuck-stage. Not a technical term, I know, but if you've been pregnant, you know exactly what I mean! The yuck-stage may last a day, it may last nine months. At any rate, buy this gorgeous Pucci maternity dress and when that day arrives, slip it on. Before you know it, you will look and feel incredibly beautiful.

If you love the print and you are feeling a little more sexy and sassy, try the strapless version.

Pregnant, Pretty in Pink, and Pucci - when combined, equals stunning.

Popcorn - 21st Century Style

Is it for a doll? Is it for an adult? What is it?!!? If you guessed an adult, you would be correct.

Magic Scarf makes these Popcorn style shirts. When I saw the shirt I couldn't help but laugh. There is absolutely no way that is going to fit me, I thought. I don't say this very often, but I was wrong. Dead wrong. It does fit. In fact, it fits quite well. How that little thing stretches to fit people is amazing... and flattering! They make lots of styles and offer many colors and prints. I thought this ruffled cardigan was also cute.

New Years Resolution #3

I am going to keep up with my yoga and/or pilates this year, dammit... if it kills me. And in order to help me I've found a few fun things to buy.

Title Nine (T9) offers lots of stylin' athletic apparel. And better yet, most of it's on sale - the winter clothing anyway.

  1. I'll need a bag to throw some clothes in when I go to the studio. I like this one in the brown and pink.
  2. Since some days I think of myself as a superstar... ok, maybe not. But if you do, this shirt would be perfect for you. The other available colors seem more appealing.
  3. This pullover looks just plain comfy.
  4. They even sell my favorite Life Is Good shirts. They are on sale for only $15 (normally $24). Now that's what I call a deal.
  5. And for the days when I think, "Awww, screw it. I'm too tired," they have a lounge set. The pants look a little tacky, but you could put the shirt with your own sweats.
  6. For those lucky enough to be hitting some warm, swimming weather some time soon, check out their swimwear - especially the super cute board shorts.

And lastly, I will need a bag for my yoga mat (my kids ripped out the zipper in my current one). I found this bag at Wai Lana. What I love about this bag is the pockets! I never see mat bags with pockets. It's perfect for water, your gym card, a little cash, or what ever you may need a pocket for. Then you don't have to haul your entire purse! And if you need a mat to go in the bag, they sell extra thick mats. Extra thick mats is where it's at! But if you are worried about the planet, they also sell an eco-friendly mat.

Can a T-Shirt Change the World?

This year give friends, family members, and yourself something from the RED TM collection at the Gap. Why? Gap is contributing half the profits from the sales of (Product) RED directly to The Global Fund which helps women and children affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa. So while you buy a little something for yourself or some people on your holiday list, you can also feel like you are helping out a wonderful cause. Now that's what I call smart shopping!

Gap is also manufacturing some of their products right in Africa.
"A woman working in a Lesotho garment factory that produces Gap products becomes part of a cycle of hope. She works for an employer that offers her services and support and access to HIV testing and treatment. And she's making a product that's being sold around the world, the profits from which will be invested back into her country." --Dr. Feachem
Although the products are a little more expensive than Gap's regular prices, just remember you are giving to an important organization. If nothing else, check out the website and learn a little more about the product and it's initiatives. Gap says this is not just a project. This is a new brand within Gap that is going to stick around.

So, can a T-shirt change the world?
Don Cheadle (awesome actor) says, "This one can."

Say it isn't so

God help us. Leggings are coming back in this season. Is it possible to make them fashionable? Since I always try to look at things in a positive way, here's my spin on leggings.

With leggings comes longer tops to cover the bum, right? With longer tops, comes a fashion trend turn-around for our young girls! Get what I mean? If you don't agree with me, feel free to move on to the next post. But I think most moms would agree the trend of tight and very short shirts is out-of-hand. We don't care to see little girls' mid-rifs and "muffin tops." And more importantly (for me), we don't care to have boys looking at girls in those clothes. So, I think the time has come when long tops will be "in" again and crop-crop tops will be "out." Am I thankful leggings are back in for that reason? No, I'm just trying to turn lemons into lemonade!

However, whether you're into leggings or not, here are a few cute sweaters from Nordstrom to cover the bum.

Life is Good, isn't it?

Don't get me wrong. I love, love, love my own line of clothing (that's a given), but do you ever see something and think, "Man, I wish I would have thought of that!"? Every time I see a Life is good® shirt, that is what goes through my head.
I know we have all heard of this company. These clothes aren't exactly a "find," but they are amazing. Every year, they just keep getting more clever. And what better saying than, Life is good! It's a clear, positive message without being too hokey, and the designs always put a smile on my face. My favorite men's shirt shows a pair of boots and says, "Not all who wander are lost."
I always love a good success story, and the story about the two brothers behind Life is good® is a fun read. Most importantly, they give back. They make sure life is good for kids who face unfair challenges by throwing festivals and contributing the money to charities.

Sevens on Sale!

I was one of those people who (once realizing the expense of children) could not pull myself to spend more than $80 on a pair of jeans. But indulge me for a moment while I share my "Sevens" story.

A couple of years ago my friends would talk about "Seven" and "Citizen" jeans, and they were on all the Hollywood stars. About a year ago, I was walking around aimlessly in Nordstrom. I was by myself (which is a rare occasion since I'm usually toting my boys around with me), so I took my sweet old time. I was in the jeans department and thought, "Oh cripes, I'm just going to see what all of the fuss is about." I grabbed a couple of Seven for All Mankind jeans and headed into the dressing room.

I pulled on those pants and I was instantly hooked. I seriously couldn't believe it! They were the most comfortable pair of jeans I had ever tried on. The biggest plus, it only took me about 10 minutes to decide on them - not the usual hour and 25-pair-later scenario. The jeans actually move with you, they give (more than normal "stretch" jeans), and they look good. Not to mention, you can think you look like all the stars! Now I just need to find a purse I love as much...

If you still are not convinced that you want to spend more than $80 on jeans, I found these Sevens on sale at Nordstrom (only $78.90)!
